Each product page lists an estimated worker count. Because ant colonies are living organisms, counts may vary slightly.

Ant colonies grow naturally over time. Ants do not reproduce in captivity in a controlled or commercial manner. So all existing queen ants are captured from Nuptial (breeding) Flights  that occur in their natural habitats

Many of our species are great for beginners. Experience level recommendations are included on product pages.

Live ants are shipped in secure, insulated packaging designed to protect them during transit.

Live ant orders typically ship via UPS Next Day Air® to reduce transit time and stress on the colony.

Live shipments usually go out Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend delays.

Shipping availability depends on weather conditions. In some cases, shipments may be delayed to protect the ants during extreme temperatures.

If your ants arrive deceased, please contact us within 2 hours of delivery with clear photos. Approved claims may qualify for a replacement or store credit under our Live Arrival Guarantee.

Minor worker loss, natural ant behavior, or delays caused by carrier issues beyond our control do not qualify as DOA.

Queen ants can live many years, while workers typically live months to several years depending on species and care.

Ants are best viewed as educational and hobbyist organisms, rather than traditional pets.

Orders containing live ants cannot be canceled once processing has begun. Supply-only orders may be eligible for cancellation before shipment.

Live ants are non-returnable. Unused supplies may be eligible for return if approved.
